Branice McKenzie is a vocal artist of exceptional reach. Her smoky, yet clear as a bell, instrument touches her audience in ways that can only be described as "magcal". She has been hailed for her vocal mastery and stylings. And from the first note in a song, she's "gotcha". A hush comes over the room and you are in for an experience that you have never had before.

Her father, Bradford Williams, was a concert tenor and instilled in Branice a love for great voices. Lena Horne, Paul Robeson, Harry Belafonte (with whom she later worked and Leontyne Price are just a few of the artists who helped to mold for Branice her concept of great vocal artistry.

The other important influence was the beauty of the Spiritual, which led her to understand the greatness and grace in simplicity. With this foundation, when Branice was in college she heard for the first time Sarah Vaughan.

"I remember, very well, hearing her sing for the very first time and my weeping did not cease until the album was finished. There was something in me that knew that was where I was meant to be. So, that one experience led me to understand that I was born to sing," she says.

Branice is available to perform for concerts, workshops, residences, in addition to film and TV soundtrack and/or appearances. She also does voice lessons and coaching. Or, bring the I Am Me workshops to your school or organization. For more information contact Suzanne Hilleary, Manager at wacbiz@gmail.com.
